My name is Janay. Welcome to my store, Safe Sole Escapes. This is a new point where I felt the need to change so I wouldn't have to continue down this "settled" and "structured" life I've seen to cut out for myself. I'm a 36-year-old single mother of a 14-year-old daughter, and well, I felt that I was destined to be stuck at that single stigma, "single mother," for the rest of my life. Until now, I accepted that title and was prepared to live a life of "routine" and concerned myself with the happiness of others. But unknown to them, I was secretly dying inside. It's not like the people who were so important in my life were doing anything wrong, but the fact that I wasn't doing anything at all was the leading cause of my depression. Taking the kid to school, picking the kid up, doing house chores, going to work, trying to make time for family/friends/significant other, sleeping, and repeating was all I knew for the past ten years. In January 2024, I decided I needed to do something for myself, step outside the box, and get uncomfortable with life. That's when I got on my laptop and booked a flight to London. Yes, that was a bit extreme, but it was something that I never thought I would do. I knew that this was something that needed to be done for me. And you know what, I'm damn sure glad I did. Traveling to London was the best experience I've ever had, and I felt comfortable being uncomfortable for the first time in a long time. I created this store to help women like me who want to take that journey and experience beautiful things. Researching and asking the questions that can help better serve us as women. Whether you are single, married, situations, or have kids or no kids, all women should feel much more than just the categories that we seemingly put ourselves in and strive for more in our lives. I hope to build a community to understand better what we can do to make the most of this beautiful life. I thank everyone who has visited my page, and I hope this is a starting point for bigger and better things.
